Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #179 Trillium & Monkish Dial Up The Seven Digits

This is a blend of recipes of Trillium’s Dialed In and Monkish’s Dial the Seven Digits.  Is it delicious or does it lead to a throat filled with fire like their previous collab?

Style: DIPA
Container: 16oz can
Glassware: Flutes
Notes: Combining the recipes for Dialed In (our Double IPA brewed with various wine grape juices) and Monkish’s Dial the Seven Digits Double IPA, DUT7D is a harmonious marriage of dank hop flavors and smooth, subtle muscat juice.   (8.2%)
Rating: 3.75/5

Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #178 Trillium Congress Street

As you will notice right away, Mike and I did a good amount of reviews before this one.  Mike probably a little more than me…don’t worry though, the tables will be turned when we release our next video….

Style: IPA
Container: 16oz can
Glassware: Flutes
Notes: Our flagship American IPA highlights the distinctively aromatic Australian Galaxy hop.  The nose bursts with pine, citrus rind, melon and pineapple. Pronounced flavors of peach, clementine, and tropical fruits are accentuated with moderate bitterness and balanced by a light, biscuity malt character.   (7.2%)
Rating: 4.25/5 (Shaun thinks Mike was drunk and wouldn’t normally give this a 4.25)

Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #177 Treehouse Tornado

We’ve got a new one from Treehouse! This is a Pale Ale called Tornado!

From the Treehouse Description:

Tornado was crafted during the unfortunate events surrounding the June 1st, 2011 Brimfield Tornado.

We created the beer in honor of the circumstances as we experienced them and luckily escaped the path by 1/2 mile

Style: Pale Ale
Container: 16oz can
Glassware: Treehouse Teku’s
Notes:. Tornado is loaded with notes of pine, tropical fruit, and citrus (5.6%)
Rating: 4.25/5

Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #176 Blind Imperial Stout Battle

We lined 4 Imperial Stouts we thought were top notch yet mostly easily accessible.

After lining them up, we had our lovely assistant pour them while Mike and I twiddled our thumbs in the other room.

The order of the stouts was then written down and sealed in an envelope. Were your hosts able to figure out which beer was what or did they brutally fail? You’ll have to watch to find out!

Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #175 Idle Hands Four Seam

Our first Idle Hands beer on the channel! This is their New England Style IPA designed using a rotating IPA series called Change Up.

Style: IPA
Container: 16oz can
Glassware: Treehouse Teku’s
Notes:Four Seam, our first year round IPA, conjures up thoughts of a tropical paradise with bursts of citrus, mango and guava that sit on top of a refrained malt backbone. Bitterness remains subdued to allow the true character of the hops to shine through while the cloudy appearance elevates the experience  (6.6%)
Rating: 4.5/5

Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #174 Treehouse Green

Shaun finally got his whale. He apparently tried it way back in 2013 but has no idea where or with who. It could have been a whole can to his dome or it could have been simple as a sip. The point is he has no fucking memory of it so to him this is his first time diving into a beer that has alluded him the last few years

Does it live up the hype that so many others have built over the years? Will Shaun be left with a mouthful of disappointment? You’ll have to watch and find out!

p.s

Shaun is also not sure why he wrote the above in the third person since Shaun is the one writing this post…

Style: IPA
Container: 16oz can
Glassware: Treehouse Teku’s
Notes:Our cross-continental IPA! Made with Australian and American hops, this tropical heavy IPA opens up in the glass with notes of hugely flavorful notes of lemon-lime, pineapple, orange sorbet, and tangerine. It has a soft but pointed bitterness and a rich, velvety mouth feel. (7.6%)
Rating: 5/5

Nerdsense Drinks Reviews – #170-173 Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 2017

Our magnum opus of 2017! We dive fucking deep into Sierra Nevada’s 2017 Beer Camp Box. They collaborated with 12 breweries across the world to create 12 different beers. Mike and I enlisted our buddy Reid to help us tackle this box in one night.

We broke the beers up into groups of 3 hence the 4 videos…yay math!

If you’re crazy enough to watch all 4 then you’ll get to watch as the fun unfolds…we get really entertaining midway through episode 2 but episode 3 is where shit flips to high gear then you can just imagine how downhill episode 4 gets.
