It’s the Nerdsense Holiday Special! That means lots of drinking and exchanging of nerdy gifts! We give our year in review! All of Nerdsense’s favorite things!
We’re joined by our good buddies Josh and Reid. Even Kyle from No Hype Beer Reviews makes an appearance to have a beer with us.
So crack open a beer or pour some bourbon into a glass of egg nog and join us for 2+ hours of beer drinking, gift giving and all around Christmas cheer! Oh and yea, there are tangents and rabbit holes…it wouldn’t be an episode of Nerdsense without those!
Oh shit! When was the last time we reviewed a Night Shift beer that wasn’t part of a head to head?! Morph 50? Maybe! Who cares though because we have 2016 fucking Darkling!
Style: DIPA
Container: 16oz Can
Glassware: Foam Glasses
Notes: This oatmeal double ipa was made to be self-indulgent, instantly gratifying, and as subtle as David Lee Roth in bunless chaps.(8.3%)

They finally bottled it! Does it live up to that 2oz pour I had a few years ago! Reid joins me this week because Mike wasn’t around but let’s be honest, he would hate this beer.
Style: Maple Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout
Container: 750ml
Glassware: Darkling
Notes: Canadian Breakfast Stout is an Imperial Stout brewed with a blend of coffees and imported chocolates, then aged in spent bourbon barrels that have most recently been aging pure Michigan maple syrup(11.7%)
Rating: 4.25/5 (Reid: 4.3)
We got our hands on a can of Idle Hands latest DIPA, Six Seam! We fucking loved Four Seam so let’s see how this fairs.
Style: DIPA
Container: 16oz can
Glassware: Snifters
Notes: Six Seam was produced with a focus on Mosaic® hops, which helps deliver the smooth, pillowy mouthfeel and reduced bitterness characteristic of New England IPAs. The taste delivers strong notes of peach, apricot, mango, and pineapple. A subtle spice character from the use of rye complements the increased hopping rates.(8.2%)
Rating: 4.5/5
If you loved our Congress Street review because of how drunk we were then you’ll probably only be mildly amused with this one. We probably should have double dry hopped our livers so it goes along with the regular Congress Street review but meh.
Style: IPA
Container: 16oz can
Glassware: Snifters
Notes: This amplified version of Congress Street IPA is a focused exhibition of the Galaxy Hop. Milky and yellow-orange in appearance, Double Dry Hopped Congress Street emits fragrant aromatics of mango, pine resin, grapefruit, pineapple, and peach (7.2%)
Rating: 4.75/5
