When the first container from El Salvador arrived this year, we immediately took about 1,400 lbs of the natural processed Tuxpal and poured it into bourbon and rye barrels we received from FEW Spirits. These “light weights” quickly became intoxicated and took on the character from the barrels, adding a nice fruity, boozy accent to the already juicy blood blend.

Nerdsense Drinks – #434 Tree House All That Is And All That Ever Will Be
Style: Milk Stout
Container: 16oz Can

Nerdsense Drinks – #433 Tree House I Will Not Be Afraid
Style: Imperial Milk Stout
Container: 500ml Bottle
Glassware: Badass Stemmed Glass that we don’t know the name of
Notes: I Will Not Be Afraid is an immensely enjoyable Tree House Imperial Milk Stout. We taste intense syrupy dark chocolate, caramelized candy sugar, chocolate covered espresso beans, and a hint of cherry cola. This beer is luxurious and silky, like chocolate clouds, yet never relies on an overly saccharine complexion to bring out the intense and complex flavors we have worked so diligently to impart (9.3%)
Nerdsense Drinks – #432 Weihenstephaner Vitus
Style: Bock
Container: 500ml Bottle
Glassware: Stemmed Balloon
Notes: Full-bodied and sparkling with an effervescent mouthfeel. Thus, the Vitus does not taste like a typical Bock beer but more like a noble, fruity wheat beer. Perfect with red meat, strong cheese and also able to guide desserts. (7.7%)
Nerdsense Drinks – #431 Firestone Walker BBA Velvet Merkin
Style: Bourbon Barrel Aged Oatmeal Stout
Container: 12oz bottle
Glassware: Stemmed Balloon
Notes: Velvet Merkin is the beer that almost wasn’t…Indeed, this vintage oatmeal stout’s comical (or is it scandalous?) name went off the grid for several years, but now it’s back due to popular demand. Velvet Merkin is aged for a full year in retired spirits barrels from Heaven Hill, Woodford Reserve and others, yet manages to offer mind-boggling balance and restraint. You will wig out when you taste Velvet Merkin’s rich milk chocolate, bourbon and espresso flavors, preceded by aromas of vanilla, coconut, toasted oak and mocha. .(7.9%)

Notes: Bamburana unfolds on the palate with forward-facing roasted malt flavors that branch out against a dark fruit backdrop of figs and dates. Then, brandy and whiskey accents make themselves known with complex boozy-and-sweet flavors, complementing the warmth and spice of Amburana wood.(12.2%)
